how to become a scholar ffxiv

Arcanist how to become Scholar?

I just finished the lvl 30 Arcanist quest where I helped K'lyhia defeat Doesmaga and was rewarded with Bane. As I understood it, at lvl 30 I could branch into Scholar so I could (at last) heal. But how does one do this? Who do I need to talk to? I'm getting conflicting information, and being able to heal is very, very important to me. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

You need to go back to the Arcanist guild and look for the blue unlock quests. There will be one for Scholar and one for Summoner. You must also be past the quest Sylph Management for them to be available.

Did you complete the MSQ "Sylph-Management" (Lv.20)?

If you did, then after completing your Lv.30 class quest there should be yet another quest over your guild that will unlock it.

You'll be directed from the Arcanist's Guild to the Marauder's Guild where you'll get to meet Alka Zolka <3 Who will be your companion as a scholar even though he's not a scholar ;)

to be slightly more specific: you get the Summoner quest from your (technically a stand-in, but who does all the actual work) Guild Master like you would for the other ARR jobs.

However the Scholar quest starts from one of the NPCs behind the counter, so it can be hard to see the quest bubble over her head depending on your camera angle. It's the same NPC who does the little intro schpiel when you first join the guild, iirc.
